Wyndham House

Wyndham house is a co-operative living residence for young women between 16 and 21 years of age, unable to remain in their parental home because of abusive situations, but with a strong desire to continue their education. Residents must be enrolled in a day-time educational program, and they must choose to live at Wyndham house; they are not placed here. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to continue their education in a stable and supportive environment.

Staff provide 24 hour guidance while serving as adult role models. Residents learn necessary life skills through a hands-on, practical approach. Wyndham House is a preventative program, often preventing young women from developing destructive life patterns that are costly to treat, such as drug and alcohol abuse. In addition, our agency acknowledges the fact that education increases the chances of securing employment and becoming self-supporting, contributing members of society.

Other than a daily 'per diem' for each resident, Wyndham House has no permanent, core funding. Consequently, we rely heavily on support from the community. Fortunately, the community has been more than generous, both with financial contributions, and in acknowledging the work that we do. Community support of fundraising efforts, such as the production of this compact disc, is essential if we are to continue to provide this much-needed service.

If you would like to know more about our program please contact us at (519) 763-8040. Financial contributions are always welcome, and very much appreciated. A tax receipt can be issued for the value of your donation. Our mailing address is
