I think it's Rum on the left, Canna on the right,
out in the Sea of the Hebrides.

I'm sorry, I ruined the shot.
I didn't judge the depth-of-field correctly at all.

2 takes of the same badly-planned
picture don't make you any smarter, Tai.
I'm sorry!

Of course when JL points the camera at me it works fine. :)

We stayed in Portree on Monday night, at Dunsgiath, a B&B right down in the harbour. Alison took great care of us. We had an entertaining meal (that means the food was good and we were drunk) at a place in the central square in Portree, and now I can't think what it was called. Fun people there, for sure.
Beer suggestions in Skye: Hebridean Gold, Red Cuillin.
We didn't take any pictures with my camera on the way back South, but on Tuesday
  • we passed through Eig, on the Trotternish peninsula in Skye,
  • Invergarry,
  • Drumnadrochit, with the ruins of Urqhart castle,
    • nearby placques commemorating interesting 20th century events like
    • a boat racing fatality and
    • some nice WWII bomber flying by Vickers Wellington Ia N2980 'R for Robert',
  • Inverness, with the Castle Restaurant (the only place to eat at 3pm) and
  • Perth (with the Filling Station [not bad Sangria!] and a drive-by of Scone Castle.)
  • Also I had the Living Hell frightened out of me by RAF jet fighter aircraft twice, once on the Eig road (where JL spotted the bogey) and once, unseen but very clearly heard (in the tourism information centre in Drumnadrochit.) Apparently this is just viewed as a part of life in the Highlands.
