Camping at Mew Lake and Hiking at Mizzy Lake
in Algonquin Provincial Park 26 Oct 2002

Whoo! Temperatures were actually OK, with low of -2 or -3 C and high of about 5 C. I did get a bit wet with all the melting snow falling on me though!

The town beach at Dwight, with some fog about 8am.
One of my fave sites at Mew Lake, #113. Actually I didn't get to camp there due to badness, but I got some pictures before someone stole the site on me. :)
From the beach at Mew Lake, looking to the opposite shore. I love how snow looks reflected in water. Your brain is saying "Should that not be ice on the lake?"
The first big beaver dam on the Mizzy Lake trail.
In May 2001, Brian took almost the same picture!

About 10 km later down the trail, I get to see two of the grand rodents! Actually I heard them first, the SMACK! of tail on water. Alarm behaviours are awesome. Notice how much of the snow has melted?
